Car wreck claims 1 life, leads to 1 injury in West Virginia

A woman has sadly lost her life in a head-on motor vehicle collision in West Virginia, leaving her loved ones to question how her life could have been taken so soon. In addition, another individual suffered injuries in the crash. The car wreck took place on a recent Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, a 49-year-old woman was driving by herself in a sport utility vehicle along a road at about 8 a.m. All of a sudden, she collided with a coal-carrying truck. Unfortunately, she ended up passing away in the head-on crash.

The truck driver, on the other hand, survived the crash. However, he was transported to a medical center for the treatment of his or her injuries. Police continued to investigate what caused the crash.

If police discover that the driver of the coal truck caused the fatal accident, the loved ones of the sport utility vehicle driver who died in the crash may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the truck driver, seeking the reimbursement of damages sustained. The coal truck driver's employer may also be named in the liability lawsuit. For the plaintiff to prevail in the lawsuit, liability has to be established before the court hearing the case. Only then will a judge adjudicate claims for financial damages.

A case that is fought successfully might lead to monetary compensation that may help with covering burial costs and even the loss of income for surviving dependents. Compensation cannot undo the events that led to the fatal car crash in West Virginia. However, it can help the deceased accident victim's surviving family members to experience a sense of justice in the wake of the car wreck.
