Dangerous products include Target toddler boots

Consumers in West Virginia -- specifically, the parents or grandparents of young children -- may be impacted by a recent recall of toddler boots. Specifically, Target has decided to recall its Cat & Jack Unicorn boots. According to Target, the boots -- specifically known as Chiara boots -- are dangerous products because they can cause young children to choke.

Target's boot recall covers around 33,600 boot units. The boots being recalled are between sizes 5 and 13, as well as size 1. According to federal officials' recall notice, the boot features a unicorn horn that can detach and thus pose a choking hazard.

So far, four consumers have apparently noticed the horn-detaching issue. However, injuries have not yet been reported in connection with the dangerous products. The federal government urges anybody with the unicorn boots to take them from their children and get full refunds for them at any Target location.

Sometimes, products feature manufacturing and/or design defects, and unfortunately, they make their way to store shelves before these problems are caught. In some cases, product recalls prevent a large number of consumers from being injured by dangerous products. However, in other cases, consumers end up suffering injuries due to using these hazardous products. Fortunately, the injured parties in these situations have the right to seek the reimbursement of monetary damages, which may help them to address their injuries. An understanding of what facts need to be proved will likely be essential for prevailing in such product liability cases in West Virginia.
