A woman recently lost her life in a tragic motor vehicle crash in West Virginia. In addition, three other individuals suffered injuries in the collision. The car wreck took place on a Monday night when police said a car driver collided with a parked car.
The recent accident occurred at a little past 9 p.m. According to authorities, four people were riding in a car when the driver ran into another car that was parked in a parking lot. The car that was struck was not occupied at the time of the accident. However, the car that collided with the parked motor vehicle ended up catching fire as a result of the impact.
A 38-year-old woman in this car was trapped in the car's backseat at the time of the fire and later died at the crash scene. Meanwhile, the car's 36-year-old driver and another passenger, 37, suffered injuries in the collision and were taken to the hospital. Authorities had to pull both of these individuals out of the fiery car as well. The fourth passenger, who was sitting up front, was thrown from the motor vehicle and suffered severe injuries.
The two passengers who suffered injuries in the West Virginia collision may opt to file personal injury claims against the car driver who allegedly caused the accident. Likewise, the loved ones of the woman who passed away at the accident scene may file a wrongful death claim against the driver, seeking damages. If they are successful in their claims, based upon a showing of negligence, they may receive judicial awards that might help them to cover hospital bills, funeral costs and other losses tied to the car wreck.
