An ex-employee is suing a beverage company, citing alleged age and gender discrimination and wrongful termination.
The plaintiff filed a complaint in Putnam Circuit Court against Bottling Group, LLC for alleged violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
According to the complaint, on June 15, 2018, after working for approximately 14 years at the defendants’ company, the 54 -year old-plaintiff was discharged; she claims this was based on her age and gender.
The plaintiff claims that throughout her employment, she observed a pattern of older, long-term employees being terminated or forced to retire and replaced by younger employees known as “campus hires.”
As a result of this policy, she claims, she suffered loss of her employment, wages, benefits, and job security.
The plaintiff holds Bottling Group, LLC and their management responsible because they allegedly disciplined her more harshly than her male counterparts due to her gender and sex, and discharged her based in whole or in part on her age.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages in an amount to be determined by the jury, She is represented by Bobby Warner.
