U.S. Department of Transportation releases preliminary guidelines for driveless cars

On Monday, a group of federal officials including Jeffrey Zients, Director of the National Economic Council, and Anthony Foxx, Secretary of the US Department of Transportation (DOT), released a 15-point set of guidelines for autonomous vehicle manufacturers.

Air bag auto defects subject of yet another recall after death

Hundreds of thousands of Ford Ranger pickups are being recalled. This is due to auto defects related to the air bags and affects 2004, 2005 and 2006 model Rangers that were sold throughout the United States, including here in West Virginia. Apparently, the recall was prompted after a man from another state was killed in an accident. The crash itself occurred in December 2015 when a 52-year-old man was driving his 2006 Ranger and hit a cow and went on to strike a fence in the area.

Man sues General Motors over auto defects

West Virginia residents may be interested in hearing about an automotive case from another state. According to a recent report, the plaintiff had purchased a Chevrolet truck from a local dealership. He says that it had auto defects and claims the dealership was unsuccessful at repairing them.
