Fitbit Force Deemed as Defective Product Causing Skin Irritation

Many residents in West Virginia who are trying to lose weight or stay fit may have purchased the Fitbit. These are technological devices that offer users a variety of data, including number of steps taken, calories burned and more. Fitbit, and other similar devices, is becoming very popular among the American population as consumers are looking for ways to reach their fitness and weight loss goals. However, it is important for consumers to be aware of a defective product to avoid any adverse side effects.

Unfortunately, one of the products offered by the Fitbit brand has had various reports against it, stating that it causes skin irritation and burns. Because of these reports, Fitbit has recalled its product. The product, which is called Fitbit Force and is worn on the wrist of the user, has been very popular with raving reviews about its effectiveness and simplicity.

Reportedly, Fitbit has received nearly 10,000 skin irritation reports and another 250 reports of skin blistering. The recall affects roughly 1 million products throughout the United States. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission is directing everyone with the Fitbit Force to contact Fitbit and request a full refund, to which the company has willingly agreed.

Wearable fitness technology is becoming much more popular today with numerous companies getting in on the mix and selling similar devices. Just like any other product, companies are required to ensure that their products are safe for use by consumers and will not result in health issues, such as skin irritation and blistering. Consumers in West Virginia who have been injured due to a defective product would do well to become familiar with the legal actions available to them in order to hold the manufacturers responsible for creating and selling defective products.
